LAN VS DER playing 11 team Derbyshire vs Lancashire

Derbyshire vs Lancashire

preview

Derbyshire

Derbyshire have lost three matches in the competition so far with Lancashire responsible for one of those losses. They lost their last two matches to Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire by 5 runs and 20 runs respectively.
In their match against Warwickshire, Derbyshire’s bowlers failed to make any impact whatsoever as they picked up the first wicket in the 12th Over. Their bowlers had to face carnage from Colin de Grandhomme and Ed Pollock who both posted sensationally quick fifties. In response to the total of 197, Derbyshire failed to produce any big partnership which resulted in a big loss by 20 runs. Their lower order tried to make amends but cameos from tailenders proved to be too little too late.
Wayne Madsen has done well for Derbyshire in this season as well and his performance has dictated the result as far as Derbyshire’s performance is concerned. They’ve already lost to Lancashire in the tournament before and they’d have to come back to their best so as to challenge Lancashire who appear to be on a rampage at the moment.

Lancashire

Lancashire is one of the only few teams who has lost just one game in the competition. Their only loss came against Leicestershire who share the spot with them on the points separated only by Net Run Rate. Other than that, Lancashire’s road till now has been pretty smooth.
Lancashire registered a win for the second time against Durham in this tournament in the last game. Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler are key players for them who have been in terrific form in this tournament so far. Although Buttler saw off a rare failure in their last game, McLaren, Croft and Livingstone did well to propel them to a comfortable total. Matthew Parkinson and Jordan Clarke were both impressive as the bowlers never allowed Durham to tee off.
Lancashire have done incredibly well in front of their home crowd and it would be interesting to see how they adapt to the Derby’s slow conditions. Lancashire have the experienced batsmen as well bowlers who surely know how to adapt, but they’d have to apply themselves in order to keep their undefeated streak intact.
